About the artist and his works

Alberto Ongania is a contemporary Italian artist who has acquired the techniques of the old masters and has combined them in his own unique contemporary style.

He was born in 1969 in the north of Italy in the village of Perledo on Como Lake, near the border with Swizerland. He started painting at the age of 10 and later studied under renowned Italian painters who thought him the ancient techniques of the old Italian masters, resulting in becoming a well-selling painter by the age of 22.

Partly through his travels to other countries and an extensive study of philospohy on the nature of beings, he developed his own way of expression, communicating emotions and feelings through figurative forms and later also through occasional abstracts. He specifically developed a liking for doing people's portraits and portraying their characteristics in these. Portraits remain among his painting preferences and he is very much open to portrait artist commissions.

His works have continued to be popular throughout the past decade and they can now be found in a number of private collections on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
